Beloved legendary TV host passed away this morning

Tributes have poured in from colleagues, fans, and Tennesseans who admired Elmore. Becky Magura, President and CEO of Nashville Public Television, praised Elmore’s contributions, saying, “Joe was truly amazing, and his time and skills were a gift to our team, our viewers, and the state of Tennessee that can’t be matched. We won’t be able to find someone to replace him, but Tennessee Crossroads will carry on his work.”

Lelan A. Statom, an anchor for WTVF-TV Nashville, also shared his condolences on X, writing, “Prayers to the family, friends, and coworkers of Joe Elmore. Joe and his team put together a wonderful program showcasing people & places across the state.”

Fans of Elmore’s shows have taken to social media to share their memories and express their grief. One fan tweeted, “This was my Bob Ross. The person who made anyone think they could make a cool car. I love cars and hot rods because of him. Rest in peace, Joe Elmore.” Another wrote, “Thanks for making me remember. Power Block and Horsepower TV were important parts of my childhood.”

Elmore’s authenticity and dedication to his craft were evident in every story he told. “These days, it’s hard to find media personalities who are as honest as Joe Elmore. It was real with Joe,” a fan commented. “He brought it into every great story he told. That was a gift he gave people in Tennessee to see for 37 years.”

Although Nashville Public Television has not yet announced how Tennessee Crossroads will proceed or who will host the show following Elmore’s death, they have confirmed that the show will continue in his honor. The legacy of Joe Elmore will live on through the program he nurtured and the countless lives he touched with his storytelling and warmth.

The U.S. Sun reached out to Nashville Public Television for further comments but did not receive an immediate response.
